The Lollipop Ladies Challenge #6

I love to eat strawberries and cream! So when I saw The Lollipop Ladies challenge this week I thought I would try to enter something in to their gallery. To see the challenge details or to submit your creation click here

This was the challenge picture inspiration

What can you think other than yummo, when you see this bowl of delicious strawberries with a generous dub of yummy fluffy white cream. My palate is watering!!

Apart from this challenge being to tasty to resist I’ve been wanting to try a gorgeous card tutorial from the very talented Valita Renyolds based around the strawberry. So a great excuse to get down and dirty!

The tutorial has some very helpful tips! The best being how to use Stampin’ Up! Boho Blossom punch to give the strawberry a 3D effect.

So without further a due here is my creation inspired by the creative Valita Renyolds and a yummy bowl of strawberries and cream.

I think this would be a great card to give mum on mother’s day with a bowl of strawberries and cream….

This one yummy treat i would love get, with a cute card!!

Happy creating my friends 🙂

Challenge #8

We have had a bit of a break lately, but we are back on track and hope to be doing our challenges once a week again.

This week i set the Challenge and this is what i cam up with.

This card challenge is to be inspired by the nursery rhyme
“Ring, a ring o’ roses,
A pocket full o’ posies”

Since setting this challenge i have been told the meaning behind the rhyme and all the sick kiddies.

But i still saw past the sad sick part and could only imagen little girls playing in the park, flowers in there hair and skipping around in a circle laughing and enjoying the summer sun light.

So my challenge this week was inspired by summer colours and flowers. I hope you like my tri- fold card. I enjoyed making this so much i actually made 2 🙂

Well that’s it from me folks

Happy Creating,

Carmel

Hair flower clips and bands

I thought I would share with you all a little project I have been working on. Hair flower clips and bands. I made these using my big shot, #2 circle die cut and some fleece. I have made quite a few but I won’t share them all on this post.

For now I will only post a hand full of what I have done. I’m not sure yet but if I work up the courage I ‘might’ sell them at the Innisfail Craft Fair. Not sure yet!!

House warming card…

I recently made a card for my brother, his partner and their 2 gorgeous little boys. They have just bought their very first home 🙂 The house is just gorgeous and has a real nice family feel about it!! I love the colours, the gorgeous gardens and of course the cubby house and sandpit!!

Well done and congratulations Rod & Lis, hope you enjoy your lovely new home and all the memories to come

I made this house-warming card for them. Now, it is by no means an original by me!! A fellow Stampin’ Up! Demo (I think it was Jenn Duncan?? can’t remember) made and shared this card on a Stampin’ Up! forum. I just loved the card so much  I had to copy it!!!

Tea bag fold

Hi everyone, hope your all well and creating heaps of nice things!! It’s been pretty wet here in Cairns, perfect weather to stay inside and create. I’ve spent heaps of time creating flower packs and cards for the Innisfail Craft Fair I’m attending at the end of the month.  I’ve been spending so much time on creating and no time updating my blog….naughty girl I know hehe

I thought I would share something different this week, the tea bag fold also known as miniature kaleidoscopic origami . I was interested to know how this technique came about. I found out a lady from Holland named Tiny van der Plaas created this one day when she was trying to create a birthday card. She sat thinking how she could make her card different. She began absently folding a colorful tea bag envelope that was on the table. Voila!  Tea bag folding was born.

The tea bag fold uses 8 small identical squares of paper. There are now tea bag paper and prints available but the inside of envelopes also have a beautiful effect. Other wise stamping on cardstock or using DSP is also nice. All identical folds are used to either interlock or lay side by side resulting in a symmetrical medallion.

There are heaps of different folds. This is the first fold I tried using Stampin’ Up! DSP and inking the edges. I also added some Stampin’ Up! brads to add that little sparkle to the centres. My squares were perfect since I used  my Stampin’ Up! square paper punch..

Hope you like my card! If you would like to try a tea bag fold I have added the link to a tutorial i found, using the insides of envelopes 🙂

Happy creating my friends and thanks for popping by
